Putting LEDs in you Parking Lot
When Joey Accardi Dodge approached us to swap out his parking lot lights at his dealership in Pompano Beach Florida we were only too happy to help. https://www.joeyaccardicdjr.com/ Joey Accardi Dodge and Jeep is on a large lot on the very busy Federal Highway in Pompano. His cars are beautiful and plentiful, but the lighting was old and outdated ( like most lots in the USA) Joey had the foresight to make the change.
Metal Halide vs LED
We replaced the energy-sucking metal halide box pole light with energy-efficient LED directional 4000k lot lights. Metal Halide is an electrical lamp that produces light by an electric arc through a gaseous mixture of vaporized mercury and metal halides (compounds of metals with bromine or iodine). It is a type of high-intensity discharge (HID) gas discharge lamp. The result is a rusty orange color verses a clear crisp bright LED light.
Normal use of Metal Halide lighting requires that they are very rarely if ever shut off. The constant heat takes its toll on the glass of the inner and outer cone, causing them to deteriorate and possibly break. Another danger of these lamps is the possibility of the leakage of Ultraviolet Rays
The above picture is one of my favorites as it highlights 3 different types of light – metal halide street lights, RGB color changing LED light to help the building stand out and LED parking lot lights for safety and security. It is a real-time photo of the past and present of lights. Function, form, and fun all in one picture.
