LED technology shines bright with Billionaire Tillman Ferrita with the help of Smart LED Concepts.
When we were approached by billionaire restauranteur Tillman Fertitta to design a lighting package for his signature restaurant Mastros we gladly accepted the challenge because we knew we could offer a lot of value to the project.
There was a little extra pressure with this project – it was going to be filmed for CNBCs show the Billionare Buyer for the world to see. Being obsessed with all things LED lights and LED technology is our job, creating enhanced spaces trough LED lights is our mission.
Challange Accepted
Our team got to work with a combination of design , engineerining and creativity we were able to come up with a lighting solution that would reflect the quality that Mastros deserves. We began with the end in mind we sat down with the Landry ( parent company ) team and visualised how the end experience should look for their customers. How the menus would look under our lights, how the different dishes would appear – what color tempetature to use what beam angle is approiate in what situation.
Every detail of this project was meticously planned, like any restauraunt the real focus is on the customer and their satisfaction of the overall experience. We cannot control the menu or the service but when we read reviews of our clients we look for one word “atmostphere”.
Working with the Mastro’s design team and electrical contractors, we created a fully automated lighting control system for the entire venue. All lighting fixtures in the restaurant are LED and capable of being dimmed to as low as 1%! With the addition of new RGBW LED fixtures throughout the restaurant, any lighting color scheme can be created to match any event at the push of a button.
Automation
Perhaps the biggest feature, however, is the automation. Management no longer has to worry about remembering light switches or keeping everything at a consistent light level as the Smart LED Concepts’ control system automatically sets the scene daily at predetermined times. The system will automatically adjust the lighting throughout the restaurant, keeping the atmosphere consistent with the time of day. Using this control system allows Management more time to concentrate on their product and most importantly, their valued clientele.
Control and consistency were key components in putting the right lighing system in place for Mastros. It was very important to the team that the dimming features be perfect without any flickering that had caused a lot of people to shy away from LED downlights. By using our Showcad Control and ETC Smart pack 1210 we enabled the team at Mastros to dim the lights all the way down to 1%.
Exterior and Interior
We used RGBAW strip, floods and wall washers to create subtle but effective curb appeal for Mastros. The key here was to stand apart without being too flashy. Like the restaurant itself the lighting system had to be classy and refined with all elements tying back to the ShowCAD control system. Pin spots with a 10% beam angle to highlight different features inside the restaurant. Under counter lights with alumimun track and frosted diffuser were used throughout, it helps tie into one look effect.
